We have all accidentally deleted something at one point or another like a picture, video or any other important file. But did you know there are programs out there that will help you undelete a file? When you delete a file it isn't actually destroyed (not right away), think about it more like the file was just turned off and to get it back all you have to do is turn it back on with file recovery software.

When you delete a file your computer just marks the spot on your hard drive where that file is located as "empty" even though the file is physically still there. However, next time you save something it might be saved into that spot and overwrite the file that you deleted. This would make the deleted file destroyed and unrecoverable. This is why if you accidentally delete something it is very important to not save or download anything to your computer because it might overwrite your deleted file.

When downloading a file recovery program you must make sure that you download it to a drive that the file you accidentally deleted is not on, like an external drive or a memory stick. Otherwise you run the risk of overwriting the deleted file with the file recovery program.
